His academic journey began with a Master's in Agriculture, specializing in Agronomy. Following that, he pursued a Ph.D. in Agronomy from the Agricultural and Food Engineering Department at IIT Kharagpur, INDIA. Throughout his course, he immersed himself in a comprehensive curriculum covering diverse facets like crop ecosystems, strategies for crop production in tropical regions, modern techniques for cultivating field crops, cropping system theory and practices, input management within cropping systems, constraints affecting crop productivity, case studies addressing cropping systems across varied agro-climatic conditions in the country, as well as the interplay between soil, plants, and water resources. Additionally, he delved into water resource system analysis and management while actively engaging with software-based solutions for agricultural systems, specifically utilizing the Decision Support System for Agro Technological Transfer (DSSAT).
His Ph.D. research project centered on a thorough investigation titled “Comparative Assessment of Conventional and Organic Nutrient Management on Growth, Yield, and Quality of Crops in Tomato-Sweet Production System” at IIT Kharagpur. This extensive study aimed to discern the effects of organic versus inorganic fertilizer sources on crop yield, biochemical constituents within vegetable crops, antioxidant content, and the consequent impact on soil properties. His meticulous approach involved measuring various biochemical parameters such as ascorbic acid, lycopene, beta carotene, total phenolics, crude protein, sugars, secondary, and micronutrient content within the crops to draw conclusive comparisons.
