Goat is the backbone of small and marginal farmers in India. India consists of large goat population, but goat farming faces poor nutrition and high disease incidence and seasonal fodder scarcity, which reduces productivity and profitability. Feeding accounts for nearly 70% of the total production cost, making it the most significant economic constraints for farmers. There is a need to adopt cheaper and nutrious feed. In this context, the use of unconventional and locally available fodder like Chaya has gathered attention due to their rich nutritional profile, including high protein content, essential amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidant properties.
