High cost of feed and fodder, non- availability of good quality grasses in pastures and grazing lands are main constraints in goat farming. It is very difficult for rural farmers to rear their goats with balanced concentrate feed. To overcome this situation, Azolla can be a cheap and regular source of feed throughout the year. It has been demonstrated that a small amount of Azolla @ 500 g/day in goats’ increases milk production by 15-20%. Feeding Azolla not only increases income of farmers but also reduces the cost of feeding /kg of milk production
